Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped UP (AITH), Kanpur is established in 1997 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the Societies Registration Act 1860. It is recognized under the "Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection Rights and Full Partnership) Act 1995" and 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. The institute offers three Diploma and five undergraduate B.Tech courses. Diploma courses with an intake of 50 each are exclusively for disabled students. Whereas in B.Tech courses, 60% of seats are reserved for Divyangs. The entire campus is barrier-free especially designed for Divyangs.
