About the Department

The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities has started with a mission to impart knowledge of practical applications of fundamentals of physical, chemical, mathematical and cutting edge of basic sciences. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members having tremendous dedication and result oriented approach for learning and teaching through a team spirit. The faculty of the department has contributed significantly in institute administration by taking up some of the key responsibilities/positions at the institute level and by actively participating in various standing committees of the academic senate and other institute level committees. Most of the Faculty has published many research papers in the reputed national & international journals. They involve themselves to be present in the many conferences, seminars, workshops & symposiums at national level time to time to update their knowledge. The department is committed to providing Professional languages, human values along with the quality education and professional standards to the vibrant student community. The department is progressing exponentially with a vision for developing efficient and technically sound students to outperform in their careers and professions. The department handles core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Professional communication , Management and other subjects belongs to AKTU Luck now for First year students, which plays a unique and idiosyncratic role in the institute, where the culture of science and technology prevails. The faculty of the department is actively involved in Editorial Boards of various journals, and in various national and international level academic and administrative committees. Department is also responsible and trying for collaborative research, interactions and Seminars in each of the Academic Year.. DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES: Physics Lab and Engg. Mechanics Lab: It has well equipped laboratory to offer practical training as per the academic requirements of Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Luck now. Chemistry Lab: The department has spacious and well equipped laboratory to train the students to improve their practical skills & to incorporate latest techniques & methods in academics to enhance the results & performances of students. Workshop and CAD Lab: It has also well equipped laboratory including Carpentry Shop, Welding Shop, and Machine Shop etc. for the smooth running of the courses as per the academic requirements of Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Luck now. Professional Communication Lab: It facilitates future engineers in developing managerial attitude with a nice blend of social and human values through different modules guided as per the AKTU syllabus.
